Carlsberg ‘Team Talk’ Advert

The whole ‘If Carlsberg Did…’ slogan is earth-shatteringly smug but they usually have some quite good ideas for ‘the best in the world’.
This team talk is rubbish. If you actually listen to what the bloke says it’s not especially rousing. If anything the advert relies on it’s visuals to get any kind of emotional reaction, and fails for me.

Top 6 Worst Things About This Advert:

6) Olympic Heroes
– Something about BRITISH Olympians getting all excited about ENGLAND doesn’t sit well with me.

5) Tom Meighan from Kasabian
– A completely foregetable choice of song is the only justification for his appearance.

4) “Jack knew how to wear it, and when”
– Erm, over his back, and when he was playing for England I imagine. Idiot.

3) Nigel Benn
– Really?!

2) “For Bobby”
– Cringe upon flipping cringe. Nothing like rolling out a name-drop of a recently deceased person to emotionally blackmail your audience into buying things.

1) Bobby Robson & CGI Lion
– Cementing the moment that the creatives behind the advert officially lost the plot.

My least favourite World Cup related advert.

Review: Carlsberg did a team talk, and it was probably the most by-the-numbers team talk in the world.

Well put. Espcially the Bobby Robson sentiment. One note, its Bobby Moore at the end of the ad.

Nooo! I fastidiously fact checked. Will update.
